What is Coaching?
The book Group Coaching Blueprint has a great definition of coaching:
The International Coach Federation (ICF), which has over eighteen thousand members worldwide, defines professional coaching as an “ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses, or organizations.” Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. The definition continues: “With each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.”
As your coach, I want to help you grow, change, develop and achieve your life yearnings. While I will challenge you to live out your values and reach your potential, our relationship starts with your agenda, your values, and your initiative. You are responsible for your life, and you’ll make the choices about what actions to take and what we work on together. I’m excited about partnering with you in this journey!
